What Questions to Ask in an Interview - Tips to Succeed
By:Benjamin Wise

First and foremost, take time out to think of what questions you want to ask in a job interview. This way at least you will be prepared. More importantly understand why you want to ask those questions. In other words, do not ask questions for the sake of asking questions.

The first question you should ask is, "What is the company's mission statement"? The objective here is to find out what the company is all about. The purpose is to see where you fit in. You also want to connect the dots in showing that what you have to offer makes sense, relative to their mission.

"What are the goals of the company"? The objective is to find out what they want to achieve. Then once again your purpose is to prove that you will be able to help them achieve those goals and that you yourself have goals.

"In the event you give me the job, why should I take it"? What you want to achieve here is simple. It's called the take away; do not let them assume that you will take the job. Furthermore they are going to sell you on why the job will work for you and hence you can turn it around to why you are good for this job.

"If you give me the job what will be the biggest challenge"? The objective here is to find out what they consider to be the biggest challenge you will face. When they do this you can address how you will be able to effectively handle that challenge.

To conclude, the purpose to these questions is to find out what they are looking for. Then you can prove to them, using their own words how you can deliver. The biggest tip for success is to have them sell themselves on you.
