Resume and Interview Tips

Preparing For an Interview - 3 Tips to Ace an Interview
By:Benjamin Wise

When is comes to getting a job it is pretty much like anything else. You need to build value and essentially sell yourself. The question you ought to ask yourself is, "Why should this company employ me"?

1. What can you bring to the table, what is it that you can deliver? You need to be specifically plain on this matter and have it prepared, otherwise you will not be able to clearly identify why the company should employ you.

You are their for one reason, and that is prove to them why you are the right candidate for the job.

The only reason you are there is because they need someone to do a specific job, you need to know what that is and how you can do it better than anyone else.

2. Ask questions, many people forget to do this when going for an interview. Instead they keep talking and don't listen to what the interviewee is saying. Worse still they are so pr-occupied with how they perform, that they start to miss the question and give an answer which is not relevant.

3. This leads me to point number three. Listen to what they are saying. Take a little time before answering to understand what is behind their question. They ask questions for a reason and it is better to understand this, above that of answering with pre-canned answers that are not relevant.

If you need to, take notes so as to refresh your memory. When in the interview sit up and show interest. Be engaging and look them in the eye when answering. There is nothing worse than someone you cannot look you in the eye.

To conclude, make sure you dress appropriately, answer questions thoughtfully and succinctly.
