Resume and Interview Tips

How to Make a Preschool Teacher Resume
By:Michelle Bolyn

Preschool teachers interact with young children, parents, other teachers and assistants, and management every day. A preschool teacher needs to be responsible and trustworthy for parents to leave their children in her care. A preschool teacher's resume should reflect all of these skills.

Create a new document in your word processing program.

Center your contact information at the top of the document. Each piece of information is on a separate line: name, address, phone number and email address. Begin about 1 inch from the top edge of the paper.

Type an objective. Your objective should explain your desire to be a preschool teacher in one or two lines.

Separate the rest of the resume into three sections: education, work history, and achievements and skills. If you recently graduated, place the education section at the top. If you've been in the workplace more than two years, make the work history section the first of these three.

List your education. Include the name of the institution and when you graduated or attended. If you don't have a college education, list your high school information.

List your work history. Include all relevant experience--baby sitting, teaching and volunteer work that included young children--beginning with the most recent. List your responsibilities in each position.

List achievements and skills. Focus on any relevant skills and awards, such as completing a CPR class or the ability to speak a foreign language.

Print your resume on resume paper, using a laser printer for the best quality.
