In Response To: Note, Organize, Summarize (Dr. Yanni Zack- ESL Teaching Tips and Strategies)

I have taught them the same strategy using
the Letters SQ3R.
Just an add-on, having used all the same strategies. Many books cannot be written in because they are non-consumable (sometimes even when they are supposed to be consumable). When that happens, I have my students use my large stash of sticky notes. The 2x2 size is large enough to write a complete sentence or question and they can be left in the book/article or repositioned onto a separate sheet for review.
