Travel Tips

Travel Healthy, Travel Happy
By:Vanessa Ann Lea

As people's love for traveling developed, so did the dangerous diseases. Despite men's efforts to protect themselves in the comfort of their homes, illnesses could still catch them off-guard especially when they don't anymore have the four corners of their homes as shield. Yes, diseases can go beyond borders. But they don't really have to hinder people's love for adventure.

So what can you do to travel healthy and travel happy? Keep yourself protected from the following fun-busters of your vacation.

Air-borne illnesses

We only breathe one air. So just how can you not become an easy prey of air-borne illnesses such as colds, cough, or flu? Especially inside the plane, when someone is sick with the common colds, there is a big chance that you can catch the disease whether you like it or not. So before you travel, make sure that your body is packed with Vitamin C that can combat those unwanted guests. Or for a higher fee, you can also opt to get flu shots so you could stay away from the influenza virus.

Skin illnesses

When you travel to a tropical country where the weather is both wet and dry, there is a huge possibility for you to get skin illnesses caused by insect bites or too much heat of the sun. So before you leave the house, check if you have sun block lotion and insect repellant in your bag.

Water-borne illnesses

The most common water-borne disease is probably diarrhea. But have no fear because this can almost easily be prevented. And to do this, make sure that you bring with you safe drinking water. But if the inevitable happens, you may want to bring medicines just in case.

Traveling can be so much fun if your body is prepared for the adventure. So get yourself protected from the fun-busters of your trip.
