[Hello,

I was interested to read your question about ESL qualifications. I have a professional diploma in TESOL (I am also Australian - Perth) and now work as a TESOL instructor in Perth. I find that experienced teachers like yourself DO benefit from TESOL because it is a completely different methodology than what you are used to. I am also a trained teacher, but I found doing the TESOL course was definitely worthwhile. Yes, schools will more than likely take you on without ESL qual's, but you need to consider what the job entails. The methodologies are definitely worth a look-in. I have taught many high school and primary school teachers in Australia to become ESL teachers. Look this site up www.globaltesol.com.au

Good luck. You will have a ball if you decide to work as an ESL teachers. I have worked in Eastern and Western Europe and Asia. I particularly enjoyed my time in Japan - very worthwhile experience.
