I don't think so Michael, I was in a similar position to yourself before I left for China. I opted to do one of the i-to-i courses (think the web site is http://www.teflcourses.com.au ) in Brisbane. Although it was quite simplistic and mostly full of beginners it was a good refresher and converted some of my skills to what will be required in Beijing. And of course I gained a TEFL certificate, which can only help. In any case, I think you will be fine as you are! Good luck
