I have noticed another pattern in the scams. Internet fraudsters are abusing the 070 numbers. These numbers are a service for people on the move, that allows them to divert their calls between several land lines and mobiles. Is it possible that some Nigerian telecoms operators are involved? So it's a premium-rate phonecall; identity theft and obtaining money by deception scam

As an aside, the American Embassy has reported visa lottery scams on Nigerians from Abuja.
