Ten Important Stress Relieving Techniques - Self Improvement

There are some simple ways for the human’s being to return to stress free bliss….or at least normalcy! We considered categorizing them into three groups: physical, mental/emotional, spiritual. Considering that we are divinely connected…..one with everything if you will (and wow does quantum physics prove it to our skeptical western mind) an intention to heal one level of consciousness invariably acts upon all other levels and dimensions. Heal the self, heal the world! Now, on to the list!

1. Breathe The Fresh Air Of The Outdoors- We cannot emphasize enough the importance of good clean air in our lungs. Take some healing breaths using this technique: Place the right thumb over the right nostril and inhale through the left…..immediately cover the left and exhale right…..now inhale right, cover the right and exhale left. This constitutes one round. Perform at least five rounds. EXTRA: keep the index and middle fingers rested upon the third eye while the thumb is used to cover the right nostril and the ring finger to cover the left. (This combined “alternate nostril breathing” balances and relaxes the hemispheres of the brain.)(placing the two fingers on the third eye helps open the psychic channels of the mind.)

2. Leaning Forward/Bending Back- Bend forward to reach the earth; lean back (hands on the lower back for support) to reach the stars. A simple forward bend stretches and activates all the powerful energetic channels of the posterior while a simple supported back bend opens the chest and lungs and activates digestion and promotes healthy elimination. Free flowing energy is happy energy!

3. A Quiet Walk- Taking a quiet walk gives the mind and body a chance to relax and “step out of the box” that repetitive thought can trap us in. If a thought repeats to the point of annoyance……gather that annoyance, allow it to overcome, think the one thought with all your will power to the point of controlled eruption and then like a duck shaking water off it’s back……physically shake the body and the thought will go with it….for a time! It is the little things that heal. Taking the symbolic walk from our troubles gives us the space to rethink in new, excitingly creative ways, solutions to life’s little problems.

4. Your favorite pet……..need I say more? (Petting zoos work in a pinch and no clean-up!)

5. Prayers of Gratitude- If the end was tomorrow…..would we still place stock in the trivial ego powered indignities that plague our culture? No. No offense would cause offense would it? All would be laughable if we in a moment of power accepted fully our divinity and said yes to the present moment. Prayers of thanks and gratitude lead to compassion, patience and a stressless existence. Stressfree beauty!

6. Hypnotherapeutic Meditation- guided inward from the external mind dominated noise of this society, a deep peace and quiet is located within each of us. How powerful are we who in a moment can transport the mind to a garden within. No sound or thought can reach through and into this deep place of peace. We practice the breathing and without fail reach that place of peace. Let us go there now where we can be most like our true self.

7. Great Nutrition- take the power back and create your own “food pyramid”. Our bodies are unique and no two are alike. Trust yourself and when you intend to get a healthy body the information and ideas will come to you. The body knows what it needs……trust and feel how certain foods affect you. Get learned, healthy and strong.

8. A Tall Drink of Oxygenated Pi Water- you are an ocean of energy so do not let the shores recede in dehydration. Let structured water be the only water you drink…..often. Water keeps the rivers flowing smoothly. Don’t wait until the rivers are choked…..they will rage in attempt to cleanse….taking peace of mind along for the ride.

9. Hugs- hugging left cheek to left cheek (heart to heart) feels reaaally good. Try it today and feel the difference. (you will realize that in our culture we almost always hug right cheek to right cheek…..and you will wonder why)

10. Singing- songs have a way of getting to the core of things quickly and brightening even the darkest of stressful days. Singing the songs you love breaks the cycle of repetitive thought and carries you away to that beautiful space within your soul.

Sometimes the simplest things are overlooked. Often they are the most powerful. Come full circle now from the advanced and regain the innocence of simplicity.
