Conversation Starters - for men
By:Dan Powers

The reality is that MOST guys REALLY need help in this area, so I’m going to dip into my personal archive and share an experience with you.

Before I do though, let me just say that being able to start conversations is a simple, yet important skill to master as you become a natural at meeting, attracting and dating women.

Instinctively, we guys know that we need to take the lead and begin interactions with women.

But we often don’t.

Tell me...

How many guys do you know who can approach a beautiful woman in a public place and begin a conversation with her?

That is, without being drunk!

Not many I bet.

I can empathize...

I remember the days of being out on the town, seeing attractive women and thinking:

“Gee, I’d love to talk to her...but it just seems so difficult. What would I say?!”

Instead of facing up to what I NEEDED to do, I’d resign to admiring the woman from a distance. Secretly, I’d hope that a chance to talk to her would ‘somehow’ pop up before the night ended.

What I failed to realize then, but understand now, is that the opportunity was right in front of me.

...and a conversation starter was all that I needed.

So, why didn’t I just start a conversation?

Because I didn’t know HOW!

Imagine this...

1. You want to go meet some friends at a party. 2. You don’t know how to drive. 3. ...and the ONLY way to get there is by car.

Would you feel a little frustrated?

Now imagine that within that group is a beautiful woman, who recently became single and is rumored to be attracted to you.

To make matters worse, another guy will be at the party who’s known for being good with women and will probably end up attracting her!

How you feeling now?

You want to get there, but you don’t know how!

Well, what if I said that I could teach you how to drive so you COULD meet her?

Would you be interested?

Good.

Let’s come up with some conversation starters then…

The reality is that most guys do one of two things when they want to start conversations with women:

1. Fail to start a conversation, or; 2. Use a conversation starter that is scripted.

The use of SCRIPTED conversation starters is where a lot of guys fall down, because they’re usually incongruent with the situation.

If you put on act, you’ll find that women will often sense ‘what you’re up to’ and lose attraction for you immediately.

Why?

Because women generally don’t want guys who are too scared to be themselves.

Your conversation should be a NATURAL EXPRESSION OF YOURSELF – not some script you learned from a wannabe ‘pick up artist’ on the internet.

Okay, so you might be thinking, “How do I start conversations with women in a natural way then?”

Easy.

Just come up with RELEVANT conversation starters that are SITUATIONAL.

Observe what is going on around you and look for things that could be topics for conversation.

Example: Two women in a pub watching the football.

“Great to see that the footy is back on. Is your team winning?”

Depending on your tonality and body language, this can really open up into a good conversation. However, be prepared to follow up the conversation as this question can be answered with a simple “Yes” or “No.”

Example: You’re shopping in a MEN’S clothing store and see attractive woman looking at a blue shirt.

“I don't think that shirt is really ‘you’...it’d look good on me though – blue’s my colour” (said with a smile and in a PLAYFUL way).

It’s not that hard.

Just keep it SIMPLE and SITUATIONAL.

If you can be natural and real, women will respond by being more open and personable.

Interactions will flow smoother.

It’s up to you.

Next time you’re faced with an opportunity to interact with an attractive woman, know that the ability to start with a relevant and natural conversation starter is right there with you.

Who knows where it could lead?

Cheers
