Destroying Negative Thinking
By:Mark R James

Thinking negatively can affect our lives in many ways. Once your mind is programmed to negative thinking it is very difficult to change. We all know somebody who has, or is, being treated for either depression, anxiety or panic attacks. Adopting a positive mindset would cure all of these conditions and the best way forward is to begin the process of destroying negative thinking. The more you get into this negativity the harder it is to get out of. So to start breaking the habit, should become your priority.

It is a known fact that people have thought themselves into an illness or situation by convincing themselves that a particular thing is going to happen. So to prevent this occurring you must begin the process of destroying negative thinking.

Your whole body is controlled by your subconscious mind. It is what keeps you alive and is responsible for all of your natural bodily functions. It also evaluates all information it is given. So if you repeatedly tell yourself "I am not confident" or "I feel anxious" then that is how you will feel. But if you say to your subconscious mind "I can do this" or "I feel confident about it" by repeating to yourself on a daily basis it will be accepted as the truth into your subconscious mind.

If you continue this exercise for 30 days religiously you will have taken the first step to destroying negative thinking. But should you proceed with this exercise half-hearted, without true commitment, the benefit will be minimal. If you miss just one day it could put you back a week so it must become your way of life.

Once the initial period has passed, you will be feeling some benefit but if you fail to continue diligently with your daily exercise the negativity could return and the whole process would have to be restarted.

You are now on the road to fulfillment and happiness. To enhance your progress by thinking of what you want to achieve in life, the setting of goals is extremely important. To fulfill your dream: whether it is a new car, a dream house or an exotic holiday; you must set the date that you will acquire it and the route you will take in accumulating the funds to purchase it. The progress to your goal should be logged on a daily basis until you are in possession of your dream.

When your goal is reached then you must set more. By increasing the number of goals you set, should become an automatic reaction. Once you are in a consistent goal setting pattern it will gradually become an automatic process. Keep in mind that it is the goals that you set yourself that gives your life the purpose and fulfillment you are striving for.

Remember, a man with no goals is going nowhere.

Mark has concentrated on this subject as in his childhood he was blighted by lack of self confidence and low self esteem and would like to share his experiences of how he has overcome these issues in the hope that it will help others conquer similar problems.
