Addressing Confidence Problems
By:Louisa Medley

When you think of confidence what do you think? Full trust, reliability, trustworthiness, belief in oneself and one's powers or abilities. Did any of those words come to mind?

If we have confidence problems we rob ourselves of the power of believing in ourselves, we do not have self-reliance or assurance in who we are and what we are capable of achieving. So how to be address confidence problems?

Men are very good at addressing issues; they can differentiate between emotion and problems and strategically approach a situation and solve it. That approach is built into their natural nature. As women we tend to approach issues with everything still in mind, we worry about the mortgage, cooking, work, children, money, health and we mix every negative part of these categories and when we try to tackle our confidence we end up feeling even more down.

1) What is the problem?
The first thing to do is establish what the problem is that is affecting your confidence. Is the problem your weight, your career, your marriage, your relationship, the fact that you hold onto your failures? If you have confidence problems with the way you look get a new hair cut, take up a sport that involves working within a team so you can loose some weight, or take a long hard look at yourself and focus on what you love about your self.

2) Do you know how to solve the problem?
If you know how you could potentially solve the problem then do it. Set a goal; notify someone else of this goal and focus, focus, focus. Writing a list is helpful, at times the list may end up being so long you feel even more discouraged but if you tackle each point strategically and one at a time, you will slowly tick off each one you will find your inner strength and belief will have increased.

3) Manage your mind!
Our mind has an incredible power over our day-to-day feeling. Look out for patterns, if you notice the common areas or times in which you feel down or have that surge of negative self-confidence taking over write this down. If you are about to do a presentation at work and your feeling insecure play your favourite song to change your general feeling. If it is at a family event stay around those who make you feel loved. These little changes will make the world of difference.

One day you will be free from confidence problems, pass your confidence tips onto someone else.
