Motivation Tips

Decisions? Destiny Is Calling
By:Cheryl Janecky

The decisions you make set your destiny in motion. Once you decide and commit, then other options fade as you pursue what holds your attention. That is the ONLY path there is to a successful, happy life.

"One of the greatest discoveries
a man makes,
one of his great surprises,
is to find he can do
what he was afraid
he couldn't do."
Henry Ford

If you are at a crossroads and need to make changes in your life, yet your choices seem limited, fearful or nonexistent, you are experiencing the results of decisions made earlier in your life. Most limiting decisions were made in childhood - yet still dominate your subconscious mind. Once you see what is limiting you then setting yourself free is easy.

How "survival" decisions limit choices now.
Some decisions are considered carefully - marriage, divorce, career choices, investing or buying a home. Good decision take time and research and reflection. You are mindful of the consequences and alert to how your choices are affecting your future. Those decisions set the course of your destiny in motion.

In contrast, many choices or decisions are made unconsciously, in anger, when you are upset, or hurt. These choices lead down a path that is not considered because you didn't care what it may lead to later on. You felt trapped and your decision seems like an obvious fact about life.

Emotional Self-destructive Decisions become a huge problem later, limiting choices and possibilities. Most come from childhood and were "survival strategies" you needed to adapt to your family. Difficult childhoods set destiny in motion too.

Emotional Self-destructive Decisions that may limit your life now:

"I must please others and ignore myself"

"I can't trust others"

"I'm not good enough, fast enough, strong enough"

"I'm not worth having much."

"I can't get what I want."

"I don't need anyone. I'll do it myself."

"I'll never amount to much and don't want anything"

"I'll never love again"

Decisions and success
All success in life depends on good decisions and commitment. An athlete, musician, entrepreneur or artist becomes an expert and a success by deciding and committing. You achieve whatever you desire in this way too.

Genius and new discovery is simply focus on a topic long enough to attract and experiment with opportunities. As data accumulates and you allow space and time for inspiration - you eventually generate original insights.

"When we compete
the conscious and the
subconscious, the subconscious
always wins.

So we’re functioning
95 per cent of the day with a
more powerful mind that was
programmed by other people
with limitations that will prevent
us from going someplace
yet we can’t see it unless we
purposely become aware of it."
Bruce Lipton PhD

Decisions become habits and soon operate subconsciously.
Unconscious decisions and habits run life 95% of the time. Conscious attention amounts to less than 5%. It takes a mindful decision to discover the limitations - but once you do, it's easy to see find the unconscious habits.

How do you know? You experience the limiting results of the old habit. You seem to have little or no good options, and you feel sad or frustrated about your life now. If you blame others, or the situation for your life, that decision blocks your success now. When you were a child, others seemed to limit you -- however, you success or failure is always due to your own Attitude and the decisions you make in life. When you blame anyone, that "decision" leaves you stuck right where you are. Make new choices and you are free.

Decision making steps

Until you decide- and commit, nothing happens.

Not deciding and allowing others or "fate" to make your decisions - is a decision.

Once you decide (consciously or by default) and commit - a new path opens to you.

Making decisions is the cornerstone of success, limiting your Focus to new possibilities.

Very soon your old world is left behind.

The more committed you are the more likely you will reach your goal.

The more you resist where you are, (blame, judge, complain) the more difficult life becomes.

The more you travel into the decision, the "deeper" or more fully you go in that direction.

That "path" becomes a "trench" and you can no longer see options outside of it.

Your new destination has become a "habit of thought" and operates automatically below your awareness. It limits your choices -- but assures you will now continue on your path.

"Fate, then, is a name for facts
not yet passed under the fire
of thought; - for causes which
are unpenetrated"
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Decisions to Win
If your genetic patterns, social training and family habits are healthy, you expect to achieve your goal, and you expect appreciation and rewards for your creativity.

If you are achieving what you want - your inner and outer worlds align. If you feel you never quit get what you want, that what you want is out of reach -- then your inner fears, based on decisions you have made long ago, is limiting your success.

"Every great
and deep difficulty
bears in itself
its own solution.

It forces us to change
our thinking
in order to find it."
Niels Bohr

Decisions that Limit and Loose Out
If your "personal history" was unsupportive, and you fear failure, fear rejection, fear loss of what you love, or feel unworthy -- then you are striving and your inner subconscious world is resisting your goal.

Life is the perfect feed-back system. If you are not achieving, then the next step is making new decisions. Decisions can - and are - changed daily. Changing what limits you is a simple process of re-deciding, and building the new decision into your subconscious mind.

When you have a "winning mind-set" or attitude - then any decision you make will work out for you.

Create a new habit and set yourself free.
The difference between winning and loosing decisions: Mindful decisions vs. fearful reactions. A little soul-searching and releasing old limiting habits is easy to do. Identify the problem ideas, and make the decision to change it.

Tell yourself the truth. The old ideas are poisoning your future, they are no longer true, and the truth is.... and then decide what it is you want to believe. It take repetition for about 21 days to set a new habit. Once free, your creativity and Inspiration will guide you to the Life You Dream is possible.
