How many people do you know have heard of the country called Belize? Honestly, I have never heard of the Caribbean country until now. So I started to do a little research and so should you.

But once you start researching about the country, which is said to be about 8,867 square mile total land area and has a rich and interesting culture, then it would slowly grow on you.

This is probably just one of the many reasons why it would be a good place for people, especially those who have lived and worked in cold countries most of their lives, to visit and may be, just maybe, decide to retire.

Even if you're a "No, habla Espanol" or cannot speak Spanish, you would not need to worry that you would have communication problems since English is the official language, thanks to the British who colonized them in the 1600s.

It has been trying to woo people from North America and the United Kingdom, who they hope would decide to put residences and bring in dollars to boost their economy.

And if there is a need for you to return to civilization, well it is just two hours away from three major gateways of the United States.

Since the eastside of the country faces the Caribbean, it would probably be a good place for those slow walks along the coastline or do your morning exercises.

Oh and in case I forgot to tell you, since Belize has such a small population, it would not be crowded, and there would probably be times when you would have the sea, the sun and the shore all to yourself...
