How to Speak Spanish Fast From Zero
By:Frank Cruz

Learning Spanish doesn't need to be a painful experience. This article is aimed at those people that need to speak Spanish fast for business, travel, exams or just need to get up and running quickly. Take your time to read every word in this article and then put it into practice.

Don't learn the usual way...

The worst thing you can do is go to the bookstore or library and get a Spanish language textbook. In the short term a text book will bore you to tears and make you feel like giving up quickly.

Instead follow these steps

1. Learn as many Spanish words as you can.

Even if you cannot form sentences with these words, it is important for your motivation that you learn a lots of words. At the beginning, it is hard to stay motivated about any language if you do boring textbook exercises and grammar lessons all the time.

Many Spanish words are easy to learn because they are very similar to English words. For the ones that aren't, you can use image-linking to easily memorize the words.

Try this: Think about "100 rice bowls in a row" for 10 seconds. The Spanish word for rice sounds like "a row". Doing this sound-image linking for words allows you to memorize them fast.

2. Break into conversation

As you are memorizing Spanish words, try to use them as much as possible. The goal is to try and make speaking Spanish words as natural as possible.

3. Watch Spanish movies

If you can't find them on cable, the local video library should have lots of Spanish language movies. Start watching the movies with subtitles at first and gradually turn the subtitles off. The more exposure you get, the faster you will remember words, because you hear them in context.

If you have chosen to learn Spanish, remember that there are great alternatives to those boring text books.
