Grace International Learning Center (GILC) is an English based international preschool for children of age 1-6. We are located in Setagaya, Tokyo, a neighborhood of St. Mary's International School as well as Seisen International School.

GILC is a progressive international school believing that children learn through play, active exploration, concrete experiences and interaction with learning materials, peers and adults.

We are guided by developmentally appropriate principles in child development, as specified by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), an organization founded in the United States wherein our Director is a member.

The developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children provides all the areas of a child's development; physical, social, emotional and cognitive.

In short GILC follows a process-oriented way of teaching wherein the teachers provide children opportunities to explore wide variety of materials. The child's enjoyment and learning through these explorations are given more importance than the final product or outcome.

Parental involvement in a child's education process is both a gift to your child and a gift to the school. This partnership is strongly encouraged and highly valued at GILC.

Because of the positive experienced these children have at GILC they will leave our school daily with either something in their hand, something in their mind and especially something in their heart.

Grace International Learning Center can provide three different kinds of programs depending on the needs of your children; i.e., full/half day, trimester program, summer program, and once per week ESL program.
