Would you like to learn a new language? Are you hoping to learn English fluently? Do you ever wonder if it really is possible?

I mean I know that you have met other people that speak the language fluently and proficiently. But maybe you wonder if you have what it takes to learn to speak English too.

So, first of all...I want to tell you that it is possible. Yes, you can learn English. And I'm going to prove it to you.

Proof You Can Learn A New Language

What was the first language you learned? In other words, what is your mother-tongue?

Do you understand what you hear when others speak that language? Can you speak it yourself? Can you read and write in your first language?

If you answered 'YES' to those questions above...then that tells me that you already have all the skills necessary to learn English. You have all the abilities you need to learn a second, or third, or fourth...or as many other languages as you want to.

In fact, learning a language is so 'easy' that even a two year old can do it. Well, actually they do. Even my two year-old daughter speaks two languages. Isn't that amazing?

So, if kids learn English...then you can do it too. And forget all those myths you've heard about it being easier for kids to learn then for adults.

There has been some very interesting scientific research that proves that adults actually can learn and retain a new language better and faster than children.

Even though I have students between the ages of 2 to 82... the fact is that 56% of my students are between the ages of 45 - 55 years old.

And you know what? The best part is that you don't really have to study grammar to learn English fluently and proficiently.

In fact, most kids learn how to speak their mother-tongue before they ever to go school and start studying grammar.

The problem is that most adults have the wrong attitude about language learning. It's really easy to get over though. So, let's go ahead and talk about this problem most students face when the want to learn English.

#1 Mistake Most Language Learners Make

The biggest mistake that language learners make is that they don't get enough practice. They study lots of grammar rules and memorize conjugated verb lists. But they fail to use it.

Most language learners are ashamed of making mistakes and afraid of what other people will think of them. And it's a really big issue for adults...even though little children aren't afraid to speak.

So, it is important to adopt this attitude to learn English. Realize that you are learning, and accept the fact that it is okay to make mistakes. Making mistakes is part of the language learning process.

When you make a mistake, someone will correct you. Then you will know how to use it correctly next time. So, making mistakes is a vital part of learning a new language.

So, you need to make sure that you get lots of practice. You need to put everything you are learning into practice. If you learn a new word, then you need to use it. Practice makes perfect...and it makes permanent.

You need to look for ways to practice what you are learning on your own during your study time...and then with other English students, teachers, and native speakers.

There are at least 90 different ways to learn English and practice the language. But it is important not to complicate things. It is important to keep things simple.

What You Need To Do Now

One of the easiest ways to keep things simple is to keep your focus on your final objective because it is easy to get sidetracked on your goals. Learning a new language like English takes time.

So, after a while you can lose focus and end up never reaching your goal of learning to speak English fluently and proficiently.

It's important to get clear about why you want to learn English right away. Understand what you really want to accomplish by learning a new language and why.

Once you have the ultimate objective clearly established, then it is time to set some clear goals to help you stay on track. These goals are like mile markers so that you know you will hit your ultimate objective.

And then you want to lay out a plan to make sure you hit those short, mid, and long-term goal, because it's not enough to just set goals. You actually need to take action and make sure that you learn English.

And only you can take responsibility for your actions and reaching your goals. But if you do this, if you define your objective and set clear goals...
