Types of Bullies in the Workplace
By:Larry Icabandi Nabiong

Toxic workplace breeds contempt, discontent and the like among workers. With a culture tolerating bullies, everyday scenario is likened to a prison cell where the rule of the mighty is observed and the weaklings become the easy targets. Here are then types of bullies gallivanting around making hard the lives of poor workers whose only dream is to work with decency, dignity and the like in the workplace. Sad thing is, with the following misguided co-workers and the like, workplace becomes hell.

1. Nocturnal Bully

Always hiding from the exposure of others. This bully would not give anyone a chance to see a glimpse of his/her bullying schemes. Good in hiding intentions, he/she would reverse the situation by giving out positive things about the target, but deep inside he/she abhors the person to the bones. Then, when everything is clear and nobody but the victim is around, he/she would do his/her tricks.

2. Broad Daylight Bully

Brandishing his/her power over their victims. Yes, as if a trophy is being bragged around after he/she has ruined someone's career by constant pestering and finally made one leave the company and look for another job.

3. Godfather Bully

Supporting other bully's bullying especially when someone's a presumed threat to his/her position. Yes, they would do everything under the sun (and moon) to ruin someone's career.

4. Apprentice Bully

Still new in his position and full of insecurities for he/she knows that somebody should have been more qualified than him/her taking the said seat of power.

5. Psychopath Bully

Wrong beliefs in getting power and influence is what this type of bully knows. And remorse is foreign to him/her, for what matters most is the belief that the means justifies the end.

6. Raging Bull Bully

Intimidation is the rule of the game. He/she would flaunt his/her rage sans thinking of the consequences. Believer of self-importance and ignorant of social etiquette. This kind of bully has mega proportion of ego that constantly flaring up even with a tiniest provocation.

7. Chameleon Bully

Adaptable. This type of bully knows where, when and how to expose his/her evil persona. Selective is this kind of bully whose manipulations are calculated, thus, too hard for others to detect his/her dirty work, lest one shouted foul! Well, above bullies are nothing but just categories. And to meet one in the flesh is somewhat awkward in this 21st century where knowledge about rights and all are being played up in the media and all kinds of fora. Get informed and assert your rights.
