Who Is a Psychopath Bully? Am I the One?
By:Larry Icabandi Nabiong

Sans compassion and empathy, a psychopath bully has the power to manipulate, intimidate and harass workers just to accomplish tasks. Yes, with his focus towards productivity and the like, he pressures worker to get buckled down to work, raises hackles when something goes wrong, and does not care enough if workers get hurt or what during the process.

Then, with this so-called impressive performance, management promotes him giving bigger responsibilities, more power to wield over workers and wider influence to do his dirty work.

Poor workers are left sigh in dismay, low morale sets in.

In this scenario, sans management, a privy to the real score between the so-called effective boss and unlucky workers, chances are great that the said bully would "prosper" in his so-called turf when higher-ups were ignorant of his personality disorder. This silent epidemic of getting workers harassed or bullied which is considered as a harrowing experience to all concerned, will definitely affect productivity through workers absenteeism or request for transfer or quitting, or resort to alcoholism and the like --as aftermath of psychopath boss/co-worker bullying.

He deceives people around especially the higher- ups through his sweet talks and charming facade. Hidden behind this mask is a dark side. And this dark side lies the two-headed snake ready to devour unsuspecting victims while promoting fraud in the company and pocketing fund.

Yes, he has to maintain a powerful facade just to cover up his dark desires for more power, influence and money. And any one asserting his right against bullying is doomed to face his wrath and everything. This was why, only courageous few have lodged complaints than faced the bully head -on.

When everybody is fearful of a bully, chances are, he can do everything he desires. Workers become complacent by looking the other way, er feign callous, or what just to thrive and make do with what is left of them, though dignity and sanity have been washed out the day they succumbed to his whims and caprices.

Psychopath bully seems harmless, but in reality too dangerous to a harrowing degree when given even a little power to squander to petty things in the workplace. However, this impacts the lives of the poor workers and a nightmare to be dealt with.

Harmonious relationship in the workplace is greatly affected wherein division between "allies" and "targets" are prevalent and might result to mental and emotional health hazards among workers, lest checked early.

Workers should get fair treatment. Nary sane reason to get them subjected to a psychopath bully in the workplace. HR must do something. But, of course, one has to blow the whistle and shout foul!

An adage goes something like, " for evil to succeed, it does take good people to remain silent." Yes, it is same with "hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil" you know. Well, it's pathetic a scenario. Do not let this to happen in your workplace. Do something before the "two-headed albino rat snake" bully evolves into a Lernaean Hydra!

The author is writing a book on this topic and challenges all bully victims out there to do something "sane and proper" to expose those bullies in the workplace. It is about time to speak up on this and put an end to bullying, the sooner the better. Responses or reactions you may have, kindly send to nabionglarry(AT)yahoo.com
