Hebei Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering was founded in August 1950.

It is the unique higher institute, which cultivates architecture and engineering senior technicians in Hebei province.

The Institute is located at No.33, Jianguo Road, Zhang Jiakou city, Northwest of Hebei Province. The new campus is located by the Wesan Road, It is 987mu. The first phase of the project which takes up 100000 square meters has been in use. The library covers 4803 square meters, and now has 554000 books as well as 1300 kinds of national and foreign periodicals. The total sum of teaching equipment is 35960000yuan. Now we have faculty of 627, including 379 professional teachers, among which 165 higher title teachers, which takes up 43.5%. The teachers who has got bachelor degree are 198, which takes up 52.8%. Since 2001, we have enrolled students from 16 provinces and autonomous region, municipal cities. Till now, we have over 6785 full-time students.

The institute has Architectural、Civil Engineering、City construction、Mechanical Engineering、Electrical Engineering、Computer、Management、Logistic、Foreign Language in all nine departments, social science and physical education in all two teaching departments and adult education collage. We also have a reconnaissance design institute school—run project enterprise. We have two provincial key developing disciplines, two provincial brand special fields of study and one provincial educational innovation base.

The institute existing courses and major direction are divided into engineering、science、management、arts in all four classes and engineering is 77.78%, basically covers Hebei Province architectural industry primarily urban and rural construction industry.

There are in all 18 undergraduate specialties in the institute. They are architectonics、civil engineering、heat energy and power engineering city planning、environmental art design、industrial design、engineering、materials science and engineering、architectural and equipment engineering、environmental engineering、water supply and sewerage engineering、mechanic design manufacturing and automation、electrical engineering and automation、electronic information engineering、computer science and technology、engineering management、foreign language、information and computer science.

The institute has 44 teaching and research sections、21 laboratories, They can help to fulfill each assignment of the class teaching and practical teaching, thus cultivate and enhance, the student’s synthesizing capacity and comprehensive quality.
