Location
We are situated within San Jiao Hu Primary school in the Wuhan Economic and Technology Development Zone (WEDZ). This location is in Hanyang and is easily accessible from Wuchang and Hankou.

South Lake International School opened in Wuhan in the fall of 2003. We started with seven students, grades one through five, six foreign teachers and six Chinese staff members. Our classrooms were on the fourth and half of the third floors of South Lake Village housing complex.

Our school provided a place where expatriate families' children could have an education in English. Children came from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Iraq, Russia and America. More families began to hear about our school and in February of 2004 we opened a kindergarten for four and five year olds. We also gained a few middle and high school students and by the end our first school year we had twenty five students.

During the second school year (2004-2005) we gained students from Korea, England, Japan and Sudan and realized we would soon need larger facilities. At the end of the year we decided to move our school across the Yangtze River.

In August of 2005 we moved our school onto a Chinese elementary campus. This location provided us with many benefits which include a soccer field, rubberized track and abundant classrooms. Also, a lot of expatriate families live in this area of Wuhan. The new location proved to be successful and our school continued to grow. We ended the 2005-2006 school year with over fifty students.

We now have over fifteen foreign teachers and fifteen Chinese staff members. The students at our school have the opportunity to take extra curricular activities such as art, music, drama, band, chess, volleyball, physical education and Chinese. We continue to look forward to the growth of our school and our students in the coming years.

Facilities
Our school facilities include 14 classrooms, a library, cafeteria, as well as computer, science and art labs. Our outdoor facilities include a rubberized running track, soccer field, basketball courts, and playground.
