China Confussion...........

I really appreciate all the info posted here, the recruiters I will now watch out for. I hope I wont be screwed by sending off my certificates, resume and picture to alot of the bad placement agencies mentioned here, will I? Anyways I have stopped alot of contact with all of them, and now try to only talk to the actual schools, and pray I don't get sucked into the "dream job". I am currently talking with a school in Harbin, the teacher there (Chinese female) seems very nice, helpful, and sincere. I have also talked to a former Foreign Teacher who used to teacher there and she has had nothing but nice things to say. The school offers 7000RMB per month, flight allowance, and apartment, with 5 working days a week, does this sound alright for Harbin? They are currently telling me that they are in the works of preparing my invitation letter to gain a Z Visa here in Canada, is that a good sign of a good school? I was very lucky with the placement in Korea, were I remained for 1 year, but sadly had to leave due to qualifications (long story). I was a great teacher there, and gained a lot of experience, becoming a stronger ESL teacher, regardless of not having a BA degree. I was always at work, prepared for each class, and improvement was shown in my students each week, and all of this was done with out having the "all mighty" BA degree, to teach Conversational English. Hats off to all of those who paid there dues and finished Uni, but the fact that a degree in anything (basket weaving, beer chuggin, ect) makes you a better ESL teacher is bull. I was a great teacher without a BA. I enjoy travel, learning, and after Korea, teaching, and would like to continue on this path for as long as possible. I would love some info on Harbin, any advice on China teaching, living, and surviving, will greatly be appreciated. Thanks
