Travel, Teach, Live in China

Nope!
By:Mike

None whatsoever.

I know. I'm married to one myself and we had a kid together and live here. I've done all the groundwork - trust me.

The Chinese government recently introduced a 'green card' concept. Basically, if you've been married to a Chinese national for five years AND lived in China for all that time AND done nothing wrong AND can prove you had the appropriate visas for the entire duration (ie: Z-visas if you were working) you then, taking into account the 'Chinese factor' qualify for permanent residency in this very wealthy and special place.

Otherwise, you are just like everyone else. Sorry. Nor do there appear to be any plans to change this nonsense in the future. Odd, when Chinese who marry a Brit or Yank are automatically roaring for (and entitled to, and so get) residency in those countries.

Ridiculous, I know, but there it is.
