Exciting Travel Experiences of China

a. Drifting on Hukou Waterfall of the Yellow River
Shaanxi Loess Plateau is the largest loess distribution area. Spreading over 540,000 square kilometers, the plateau is west to Qilian Mountains, east to Taihang Mountains, south to Qinling Mountains and north to the Great Wall line. Hukou Waterfall is hanging on the boundless loess plateau, which is the largest waterfall of Yellow River. Sheepskin rafts are the unique vassals there, and drifting by sheepskin rafts is a rather exciting experience. The best season to visit there is March to October.

b. Swimming under the Huanggoshu Waterfall
Huangguoshu Waterfall is the largest-scale waterfall of China. The water is plenty year-round, and the surroundings are enchanting with lush trees and beautiful karst caves. Everyone who once saw the cascading waterfall is overwhelmed by its tremendous momentum. Karst landforms highlight the whole scenic spot, with solution crevices, stone forests, canyons and streams everywhere. The best time to travel there is from May to October.

c. Hiking around Mount Everest
Mount Everest in Tibet is the tallest mountain worldwide. Any way of trying to approach to this huge mountain is considered to be an ultimate performance of back to the nature. Not everyone has the courage to conquer the peak. For most people, it is also an ultimate experience that they stand in front of the mountain and see it with their own eyes. The best time is from April to June and from September to October. Tourists are suggested to have sufficient physical exercises before the trip even they don’t intend to climb the mountain. Don’t forget even the foot of the mountain is still at a rather high altitude.

d. Driving across Taklimakan Desert
Taklimakan Desert, located in northwest of China, is called to be the “sea of death” by western explorers a hundred years ago. Being the largest desert in China, this boundless and stunning desert throws off the irresistible charms. The desert-crossing trip would be the proudest experience of one’s life. The meaning of being alive is embodied through the desire for the water and the green, through the tragically heroic dying poplar trees and through the tiny running sand. When you approach to the desert, a set of professional equipments are necessary.

e. Circling around Namco Lake
Namco Lake, northwest of Lhasa, occupying an area of 1,940 square kilometers and standing 4,700 meters above the sea level, is the highest saltwater in China. Namco Lake is the holy lake in Tibetan’s heart. Every year there are many followers from all sides rush to the lake, only for worship. Namco is like a huge mirror dotted on Tibetan Plateau, generated the faith and pursuit of Tibetan. The fascinating natural landscape attracts numerous shutterbugs for a visit. From May to June of Tibetan calendar, Tibetan Buddhists always come to circle around the lake.
