What is the most easy way to get a visa for working in China ? I want to start next month but I'm confused about the medical checks from the embassy. Is that really necessarily to go there ?

To Susan,
If you don't have an employer&you want to come here to China without the routine medical checks,you can come as a tourist first,then from here,you can apply for a teaching job,if the school will like your credentials,they will accept you right away,then,they are going to apply for you a Z visa,you will have to undergo a medical check up here[it's a routine procedure for acquiring a Z visa]. Apply for a 2way tourist visa,just in case,you need it to go to HongKong.But my advise:better find an employer there[you can find some ads in the TES,if you are from UK]...because it's much better if they hire you from overseas,than come here&look for a job yourself[it means they will pay or re-imburse your airfare,baggage allowance will be given to you,etc.etc.]But make sure that the school has a good reputation,much better if you will work in Beijing,as the schools here are more credible,to name a few:ISB,WAB,IAB,YEW CHUNG,&many more.

For your green card here in China you must have a medical examinatione done here in China. It does not have to be done at your embassy and is not really all that expensive. There is usually a particular hospital or form you will need but your employer should be able to handle it for you.

Even if you have a medical check done at home before you come to China you will have to have one done here. They want to make sure that you didn't bring any scary diseases ( though you would be much more likely to contract one here than from a Western country ) into China.
