Internet Tips

Website SetUp Explained
By:Pam L

If you are thinking of setting up a website, you should fulfil these basic requirements first.

1) A domain - You need a domain to set up your own website. A domain is like a virtual real estate. You claim your own space on the internet by buying it from domain providers. You can get a domain from companies like yahoo.com, godaddy.com at a very reasonable price. Sometimes they have specials going on and you can get them at as low as 75% off. So, keep an eye whenever they have specials going on, buy at that time.

2) A web host - You need a web host where you would host your website by paying a web hosting company. You can either have shared hosting or dedicated hosting. If you are a beginner, you should be looking at getting shared hosting. They are not as expensive as dedicated hosting servers. And when you do not have that much of traffic, it is better to have shared hosting. Once you start getting lot of traffic, you should go for dedicated servers. Some of the web hosts that offer cheap services are bluehost.com, hostgator.com

3) A designer - A designer is the person who designs a website for you. That could be you yourself, or someone you hire with advanced skills. If you want great results from your website, keep in mind that visitors want fast and pleasant looking sites. If you design a fast site, but not too presentable, or great looking site but takes forever to load, you won't be able to convince your visitors to come visit your site again. You need to have returning visitors to keep up the stats of your site.

Once you have these basic things set up, you can go for advanced settings. You can choose from different available resources then.
