I have always seen countless numbers of e-books and articles and everything else on the web. People advertising how YOU can make LOTS of money. But you know what? After researching for a while now and looking into almost all of the offers I have bumped into, you know what I found? Well, basically, everyone claiming to be able to make you money on the net, whether it be e-books they’re trying to sell you or a product, they all pretty much circle around the same ideas.

Whatever you’re doing online or thinking about doing to make money online, your success will be determined on whether or not you are able to create enough traffic to your site and creating “sales”.

Now you might be wondering where I am going with this and what those “secrets” are. Well, after my research, which isn’t years and years, but regardless, I have realized that getting traffic to your site mainly consists of a number of proven ways. And all those e-books lay out these ways in their own way, whether they are selling a service utilizing these ways, or just spelling them out.

All YOU have to do to drive traffic to sites, whether they are yours or not, is to advertise. Now I think we all know by now, because it is stated almost everywhere that free advertising doesn’t work. So what are YOU left with? That’s easy! The most effective form of advertising is eZine advertising. But of course, you need to know a little bit before delving into this area. You can’t just advertise in any ezine and expect to hit it big. Do some research. Find out about the ezine. Make sure that their subscribers are “opt-in”, because if they’re not, then you will not get as good a result. You may even get a flop. Also, make sure that they do not have any more than 15 – 20 ads total. You want your ads to be seen, not to be disregarded. And also, before going to the better ezine advertising, such as solo-ads, try your hands first at classifieds, if they are a success in that particular ezine, they by all means, if you have the resources, go for it!

The next way to drive traffic to your site is by forum posting! I know, we’ve all heard about forums, but they are the most overlooked form of advertising. Believe me, I never thought I would get as much traffic as I am getting though forum posting. It is unbelievable! And it hardly takes any time. And it is fun! You can’t post about anything you like. Reply to others posts and get traffic! Of course, it is better to post in forums that are related to your area of business. That way, you are getting targeted traffic back to you. So what are you waiting for? Start posting and start receiving traffic now!

Now the next form of advertising is blogging. Yes, if you’ve never heard of the wonderful world of blogs, they are indeed a very good way of getting traffic to your site. And your visitors will also be able to read about anything that you want to tell them. In this way, they will be getting to know you and will be that much more open to doing business with you. All YOU have to do is post your blog URL to your signature files in the forums of your choice. Then again, watch your traffic explode!

Last but not least, is the most neglected form of advertising – article writing. You can write about anything you like, but of course, you need to know something about what you are writing. Whatever you have knowledge in, you can write about it. There are so many people out there who are looking for things to read about, in a chosen field of course and YOU can give them that information. And as far as getting your articles published, you can submit them to online content and ezine publishers. There are so many online directories; just do a Google search for them. As far as getting them published with ezines, you would need to contact them directly to see if they accept articles. I have heard many people say that http://www.directoryofezines.com is one of the best places to advertise. There is a membership fee, but it is well worth it.
