inlingua Cheltenham was founded in 1990 and has established a high reputation for its excellent quality teaching and fantastic range of both English and Teacher Training courses. We are part of the largest association of privately owned language schools in the world. There are over 300 centres in over 40 countries. Our Courses

We offer a variety of teacher training courses, whether you are looking to start your career in teaching English, or you are already an establish and experienced EFL teacher looking to further your career professionally, we will have the course for you. Please see below:

Cert. TESOL

The Certificate in TESOL is an internationally recognised qualification accredited by Trinity College London. This is one of the main initial TEFL qualifications.

We offer this course as a 4 week, full time intensive programme, running Monday to Friday 9-5.30pm. The course aims to equip candidates with the basic skills and knowledge required to teach English. The course focuses a lot on examining aspects of grammar, lesson planning, teaching materials, classroom management and phonology. However the main component is teaching experience. Trainees are observed for up to 8 hours over the 4 week period. Trainees' progress is continually assessed throughout the course, an external moderator from Trinity visits on the last day to moderate all written work and interview each trainee.

This qualification is ideal whether you're on a gap year, a break from work or simply looking for a new career.

Cert IBET

The Certificate in International Business English Training is an international qualification offered by English UK in partnership with Trinity College London. This courses has been designed to meet the needs of the Business English teachers to enhance their skills and expertise.

We offer this course as a 50 hour blended learning programme. The first stage of the course is 1 week courses here at our centre, the second stage is conducted through a virtual learning environment called MOODLE. The course tutor will upload coursework and tasks to this allowing candidates flexibility in completing tasks and continuing to work. The course is finished with candidates completing one assignment which is then moderated by Trinity.

Diploma TESOL

The Diploma in TESOL is an internationally respected qualification for experienced EFL teachers who want to further their career and professional development. We offer this qualification in two ways, full time 10 week course run here at our centre or a 9 month, part time blended learning option through online and face to face work.

This is the perfect qualification if you are an experienced EFL teacher aspiring to a range of positions such as management, training and reaching responsibilities.

TEFL Refresher

This course has been designed by our experience teacher training tutors here at inlingua Cheltenham. The aim of this course is to 'refresh' TEFL skills. You may have an EFL qualification but not have taught for a while or you may just like to boost your confidence in the classroom, then this course will help you achieve this.

We offer this in two ways:

Option 1: General English with TEFL techniques- Designed specifically for non-native speakers. Participants will study General English in the morning and TEFL techniques in the afternoon. This aims to increase language ability and develop teaching skills. (This course can be taken for 1 week or 2 weeks)

Option 2: Two Week TEFL Refresher and Specialised Teaching Techniques - This option is aimed at both native and non-native English teachers. Participants will study TEFL techniques combined with specialist teaching areas such as; Teaching Young Learners, Teaching Business English, Technology in the classroom etc.

CLIL - Content and Language Integrated Learning

CLIL is increasingly being used in schools all around the world to enhance the learning of English. The course aims to introduce teachers to new ideas and concepts to help them teavch their curriculum subjects (e.g Geography, History or Science) through the medium of English instead of their native language.

The course is designed to give subject teachers an insight into how young people learn languages and how to teach them. The course is adapted according to the subjects and ages being taught by participants. Input is designed to refresh participants own knowledge of English and their confidence in using it.

We offer this course as a 2 week programme.
