Travel Tips

A Camping Adventure
By:Travel Expert

Low budget family vacations, mostly known as camping excursions, are great opportunities to explore nature, spend quality time with your loved ones and see as many interesting locations as possible. However, if you’ want to have a successful camping experience, you should consider the following tips meant to ease your journey.

• Smart packing
To begin with, your trip depends 100% on your luggage. And because we’re talking about camping, we’re also talking about a lot of walking. Make sure you pack only the most important things, and try to avoid unnecessary items. Remember to balance properly your backpack and don’t forget that food always stays on top.

• Camping location
Deciding on the ideal camping location might be a bit complicated. Usually, it’s best to find a dry place that is perfectly flat. Thus, you’ll sleep more comfortable and you won’t have to wake up with back pains. Additionally, the perfect camping location is someplace sheltered by trees and stones, in order to avoid the wind.

• Make sure you camp before dark
Usually, the best time to camp is before the dark because you’ll avoid any kind of accident. Moreover, people get lost all the time during the night, so you’ll want to avoid that as well. Throughout the day, you can see better and you can easily put a tent and organize your things.

• Camp fire is highly recommended
No camping experience is complete without the campfire. However, you have to be extremely careful. I’m sure that you want to get warm, but if you set the fire too close to the tent, you risk burning it. Try to put it at least 1m away from all your things, so as to be certain that you won’t be in danger.

• Investigate the location
Camping can never be too safe. Try to search your preferred location before camping and look for any kind of dangers. Sometimes the rain can be extremely troublesome and you might experience mountain creeps.

• Watch out for poisonous plants
Before leaving, familiarize yourself with the poisonous plants that might appear during your camp. You can never know what might happen, and that’s why it’s better to stay safe. Dangerous plants are all over the place, and you’ll definitely want to avoid any kind of infection.

• Avoid natural water from the woods
People make this mistake all the time when they’re traveling. They think that if the water is pure and fresh, it’s also healthy. But they are so wrong. This type of water is filled with bacteria and water-borne parasites, so it’s always better to think before you drink.

• Bugs are your enemy
Depending on your destination, bugs can be extremely dangerous. If you want to keep them away, you’ll have to avoid perfume and cologne because they’re usually attracted by strong scents.

• Remember the most important camping items
Camping might seem easy for some people; however, if you’re a beginner it’s highly recommended to have with you a location map, a knife and a lighter. In addition, clothes for extreme weather, proper shoes and gloves are also essential.
