Basic Security Tips When Packing Your Travel Luggage
By:Pierre Smith

Travelers often pack things without really taking into consideration security measures in airports. Read through the article to be able to pack your stuff to avoid hassles and frustrations in airports.

For a long time now, security regulations in airports have been steady yet some people try to overlook the guidelines.

When hand carrying a bag that contains liquids, creams and gels, remember that they are allowed only if placed in containers that are 3 ounces or less. This rule has been executed by most airports for years yet a lot of people still do not pay attention. If you want to bring bigger volumes of liquids, creams, or gels, you can put them in your baggage. But do not lock your luggage with non-approved security agency locks so airport security can unlock the luggage if they find anything that is suspicious looking.
If you want to take home a bottle of wine, it is best to buy them in duty-free ships as airport security will not let that bottle through. This tip can save you money rather than have to pay more for customs.
When your bag is inspected, you will find a note inside to let you know that the luggage passed an inspection. If you used a non-approved security lock, do not be surprised if you are asked to open your luggage to undergo inspection.
If you are carrying books for the trip, do not stack them in one location as it will be hard for scanners to see through. Spread the books and other documents so you will not have to run through the hassle of opening your luggage for a security check.
Do not over pack. Remember that you might have to go though a few security checks and if you find it hard to close the luggage at home, then it will be the same when going through security.
Do not wrap gifts before the flight. Airport security will want to check what is inside the boxes. When they unwrap the package, you will have to wrap them again.
If you follow these basic security tips, you will not have to spend a lot of time to pass security checks. This way, you will not have much frustrations when dealing with security at the airport.
