Top 5 Tips When Travelling Alone
By:Vanessa Ann Lea

Are you thinking of travelling to a distant alone but feel a bit apprehensive because of all the horror stories you've been hearing? Although many people prefer to travel to unfamiliar destinations with their loved ones, there's no reason for you to feel discouraged about travelling by your lonesome. As long as you keep these top 5 tips in mind, you'll be able to see the world safely.

Tip 1 - Always keep your family and friends back home in the loop. This means that you should always let them know where you are regularly so that they can keep track of your whereabouts.

Tip 2 - Bring with you sufficient identification cards and keep your important documents such as your passport and visa near you at all times. Purchase one of those passport holders so that you won't have to leave your important documents at the hotel or at places where it can be stolen easily.

Tip 3 - When visiting a crowded area, never wear expensive jewellery or flashy accessories if you don't want thugs and pickpockets to take notice of you. Wear simple clothing and try to blend in with everyone else.

Tip 4 - If you need to go out at night and you're worried about your security, make sure to carry a handy pepper spray with you at all times. Avoid dark places and as much as possible always walk with other people to get to your destination.

Tip 5 - As soon as you land, store vital numbers immediately in your cell. Keep the cops on speed dial so that if ever you need assistance, they'll just be a phone call away.
