By:Pierre Smith

Vacations are meant to bring pleasure and relaxation to individuals. However, it is dreadful when you are already on your trip then you realize that there are a few important things that you forgot to bring with you. Below is a simple checklist that can help you organize and prepare important stuff prior to departure.

Passport. This is the first thing to check when traveling out of the country. You need to ensure that is current and non-expired. Ensure that you were able to acquire the necessary visas for your travel. It is best to make copies of your passport while on travel and to leave with friends or relatives.
Travel Advisories. Countries that you will visit may have recent travel advisories for precautions, disasters or even things that are not allowed to be brought in the country.
Vaccinations. It is best to have vaccine shots for an added protection when you go to countries. Some countries recommend or require vaccinations for entry.
Airline Tickets. Nowadays, airline tickets come in two forms, the traditional paper tickets and the e-tickets or electronic tickets. Ensure that you have your tickets with you. Remember to print your confirmation should you have purchased the e-ticket for your trip. Make copies of the e-ticket too.
Money. There are number of ways to pay nowadays. There's cash, traveler's check, ATM, and credit card. You should decide how to handle spending.
Traveler checks. Keep the number and documentation separate so that in case of loss, your check cannot be used.
ATM. Know the withdrawal limit and how much money you need to withdraw in the country's currency. It is best to contact your bank too and inform of your travel to ensure that the PIN will work on the locations you go to.
Camera. While it is great to capture moments and scenery while traveling, do not forget to bring extra battery packs or battery chargers. Ensure that you have space in the memory and film to be certain that you will not miss picture perfect moments.
Prescription Medicines. When traveling, you must pack more prescription medicines that you need to have them available should there be delays in the flight. Pack an extra pair of glasses or contact lenses too.
Phone Numbers. Keep a record of the number of your country's embassy in the country that you visit. It is also a good idea to contact your embassy to register so that if there will be any emergencies or disaster, the embassy will be able to track you easier.
