Travel Tips

Travel Tips
By:Di McDonald

If you travel a lot then I'm sure one of your goals will be travel as lightly as possible. The less excess you take with you, the less you have to bring home again. We learn fairly quickly what we don't use when we are away. And if it happens that we actually need something that we don't, its pretty easy these days to find some where to buy one.

One little tip that I have for you if you travel a great deal is to have a small overnight bag already made up, with duplicate makeup items. Inside this bag you will need things like soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste and other shower items. That will save you a lot of packing each time you have to catch a plane.

Shoes are one of the heaviest things you will be carrying. Take something very lightweight for you to wear during the plane trip. And if you can manage it just take two pairs of shoes with you, one high heeled and one pair of flats. That should lighten your load some what.

The ultimate in traveling would be to be able to take hand luggage only. That way you don't have to wait for your luggage, to come off the luggage rack at the airport. You will be one of the quickest through the line and off to your destination at the other end. However it may take some practice before you get to this stage of being able to travel this lightly.

One last thing. Don't forget to weigh your empty luggage to see how much it weighs on its own. If its too heavy then it may be a great advantage to buy a light weight bag.
