Tips For Carry on Luggage
By:Stephanie Mack

Hand luggage or carry-on luggage is a small bag passengers are permitted to carry with them during their air or train journey. It usually contains all necessary items and certain valuables. Storage space will be available either under the seats or in overhead lockers.

Apart from cosmetics, toiletry, etc. air passengers carry certain things which will sustain them even if they lose their other luggage. Hence the bag should be big enough to carry those important things but small enough to comply with the stipulations of the airlines. If the bag is a soft-sided one, that will serve as a pillow also, if you get stranded somewhere.

You should carry with you all your flight documents, hotel reservations slips, itinerary of your trip, your ID, Credit and Debit cards, etc.

Rules regarding carry-on luggage are changed very frequently. But those rules are aimed at the safety of both the passengers and the general public and hence should be followed strictly. Reaching the airport without knowing the rules will lead to quite a tricky situation. To avoid such hassles, it is better to know the rules before undertaking the journey. TSA website and websites of airlines will throw light on the rules and the frequent changes that are made.

But presently, carry-on luggage restrictions are very stringent due to the unfortunate incidents that are taking place throughout the world. Many airlines are adding their own rules to the restrictions imposed by the Transportation Safety Administration. This is aimed at ensuring extra security for the passengers during their air travel.
