i have just returned from 3 years Teaching in Thailand, a great web site is ajarn.com to try for work, good Schools are the International Schools. Also Sarasas schools are well paid and offer a 12 month contract. Good Language schools are Inlingua or Ecc. Avoid English First or look on the wall of Shame in Ajarn.com.
Visa wise get a NON B visa( last for over one year) from your Country of origin, Visas are a pain and expensive if you arrive on a Tourist visa. Bring all your Transcripts for Degree's but not having one can be ok with most Schools as long as your Visa is in order.
Work with a School that offers a 12 month contract or you will be surviving doing Summer Camps during the School holidays.
