What can you do to have fun in Krabi Thailand?

Krabi is one of the largest provinces in Thailand. Known for its steep limestone cliffs, caves, white beaches and blue waters, Krabi is fast becoming one of the most popular destinations in Thailand. Krabi comprises of scores of islands dotting the Andaman Sea.

The topography here is different to that of typical beach towns and there is a vast range of activities to do in Krabi. If and when planning a holiday here, it is advisable to keep in mind that there is a lot to do and to soak in the real feel of the place; one should keep in hand a minimum of five to seven days at least.

Island Hopping
Take a day trip on a speed boat or better still, hire a longtail boat and go from island to island at your own leisure. Each island is different from the other and the beaches are spotless white powder sand beaches. These day trip boat rides also includes snorkelling gear, chilled soft drinks and water and packed picnic lunches.

Kayaking, Canoeing, Sailing
If u like rowing or paddling and drifting in the gentle lull of the waves, Krabi is the place to explore. U can rent a kayak or a canoe or a sailboat from one of the ferries at Krabi and explore the seas on your own. Some of the hotels can also arrange for the kayaks and canoes in which case, one does not even need to venture till the ferry.

Rock Climbing, Trekking
Because of the limestone cliffs, Krabi islands are a climbers’ paradise. There are special rock-climbing spots. Many of these limestone cliff islands have deep hollow caves and beautiful high waterfalls.

Diving, Snorkeling
For people who prefer to be in the water, there is no better place than the shallow waters at the beaches of Krabi. The water is so clear and shallow; you can see right till the bottom of the ocean at all the beaches. The colourful fish and corals are a sight to behold and the experience is truly magical.There are hundreds of tour operators and diving agencies which can arrange for courses ranging from a day to a month. All rental boats have their own snorkelling gear available and one can virtually snorkel in any part of the ocean.

Sunbathing
And last but not the least, for those who have ventured to Krabi to simply relax and unwind, the sun and sand is perfect to do so! Laze around all day at the beach or by the swimming pool and sip your cocktails.

Shopping
There is something for everybody at Krabi. Shopaholics can have their fill of shopping – from a range of street side shopping where one can bargain to their hearts content to the biggest of brands, most of which have outlets in and around Krabi. The more popular shopping to be done in Thailand is for silk, ornaments, artefacts, leather and spices.

Food
Thailand on the whole is a foodie’s delight, especially those who love seafood. Krabi, like all other tourist towns in Thailand, have a wide range of eateries to offer the world traveller – from Italian to Indian. But what is most popular and recommended is the authentic Thai food.

Massage
Like the rest of Thailand, Krabi is dotted with innumerable massage parlours and salons which offer a wide range of massages. A perfect way to end your shopping spree is to put up your feet at a massage parlour and soak in the luxury of an expert Thai masseuse.
