I would be equally interested to know what standards these accrediting bodies set – in terms of moderating and accrediting a standard certificate course – and how these compare to both TCL and Cambridge

An observation… you suggest in the IATQuO summary that it was set up for a school (TEFL International) that couldn’t get accreditation through the usual channels.

This seems to ignore the fact that TI started life as a very successful Trinity centre and broke away on their own initiative. I have also heard rumours that TI was recently approached by Cambridge to discuss transferring accreditation to them…

No idea of the truth to this but if I was running TCL or Cambridge then I might consider TEFL International a very attractive acquisition – both in terms of what they are now, and what they could become in the future
