By/Re:Gyeongsang National University <fullmoon@gshp.gsnu.ac.kr>
12 July 2005

Gyeongsang National University (GSNU) in Jinju, Korea, and the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) are offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in August 2005. GSNU's School of Language Education and International Programs (SOLEIP) will begin a 17 week TESOL Certificate Program (in conjunction with USCS) as part of their new English-only Zone Program for GSNU freshman students.

Teacher trainees will receive free tuition, free room and board, and a guaranteed well-paid teaching position (in SOLEIP's four week Winter or Summer English Camp, approximately US$ 1000 per week) in exchange for teaching freshman classes in the evenings for 12 weeks. The certificate program is closely monitored by UCSC and meets North American standards. You get all this and additional free benefits which include Korean language classes, selected academic courses from all departments (taught in English) and courses on Korean arts and traditions. There are also field trips to nearby temples, mountains and coastal areas offered for a nominal fee for you to enjoy the fantastic beauty of the Korean peninsula.
* Free single rooms are available but for the people who share rooms, monthly stipends are offered (approximately US $ 200 per month).

Applicants MUST be native English speakers from an English speaking country with a bachelor's degree in any field and be committed to their professional development as an ESL teacher. Previous teaching experience is preferred but not essential. Please send scanned copies (as attachments) or certified photocopies of the following documents: resume, university transcripts, degree, passport and a reference letter from a professional like a professor, teacher or doctor to fullmoon@gshp.gsnu.ac.kr .

Applicants should also include a 50-100 word statement on why you would like to participate in this program. The deadline for applications is July 22nd, 2005.
