Re: Finding a good teaching job in China = Exhausting

lol. The curiosity that I have is more of a rebellious nature against normality and simplicity. The whole, get a house, settle down thing, is completely against who I am at this moment. I could totally do that, but settle down routes is almost scary to me. How do I know if I really want to live there forever or long term? Having too many attachments makes me feel constricted and "stuck." I do not like that feeling. My soul resonates with "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings." 4 days after graduating high school I jumped on a train to Los Angeles from Alabama with $40 to my name and fueled by ambition, curiosity, and faith. I've landed and quit multiple "good" jobs since then, moved in and moved out of countless places and neighborhoods...because when something stops feeling "new" and "exciting" and becomes more of a chore and daily routine, I completely lose interest. Hell even signing at 1 year contract with a school in China makes me weary, however, I am banking on the fact that the culture will be so vastly different, that my senses will constantly be stimulated with "unfamiliarity" within that year and I won't feel extremely constricted. I know that with age this may or may not change. But for right now, this is who I am, and the only way to truly live an authentic life right now, is to base my decisions on my present circumstances, feelings, and mindset. Otherwise I am living my life in the future, which does not matter, nor even exist in the present moment.
