The History of Catwoman Comic Books

Let me take you back to discover the history of the Catwoman comic books. Selina Kyle... for comic book fans around the nation, this name is one of the most popular series to ever hit the market. Selina Kyle is the very popular character that plays Catwoman.

The Catwoman character originally appeared in the 1940's in a Batman comic book. She was originally referred to as "the cat". This particular character is notorious for rampage thefts and her dangerous whip.

When rationalizing her behavior to those who have a concern over the influence she has over children, people associated with the Catwoman comic book series often say that she is the way she is as a result of abuse throughout her life. However, even with the controversy associated with the character, Catwoman comic books are extremely popular and name her as one of the top one hundred villains.

In the early history of the Catwoman comic book series, there was a controversy surrounding the famous "amnesia" that she received as a result of a supposed head injury. Many fans found that startling. There was always a suspicion that the amnesia was faked, and many comic book series later, she admits this.

This was her way of trying to escape the grips of the tight life of crime that she lived. Catwoman went for quite a while in the new life, however, she soon returned to her original ways.

With the psychedelic seventies, Catwoman returned on the ever popular parallel Earth. Story lines of the Catwoman comic book series continued with complex story lines and an appeal to many fans across the nation.

Things seemed to subside once she mended her wicked ways and settled down with Bruce Wayne to start a family. Unable to avoid the life of secrecy and crime, she delves back into her old ways and eventually ends up dead by the end of this particular decade.

The Catwoman comic book series has established a steady reputation for being both quick witted and unpredictable. The story line of the Catwoman character is one of the main interests of the fans that take part in enjoying the series.

The Catwoman comic book series has been revisited numerous times offering varieties in the story lines. One of the main explanations to the storyline behind her life of crime is that she was married previously. Her husband was very abusive, yet she was left with numerous valuable possessions.

Once she was out of the grips of her abusive husband, she broke into a vault to get the valuables. This is where the life of crime supposedly started. It has been said that she enjoyed it so much that she took up a life in it.

The Catwoman comic book series has also stressed storylines that explain the fact that she was a prostitute, one that enjoys dominance and sadism, a mysterious heritage, and many other storylines. However, there always seem to be a comeback that shines favorably on the Catwoman comic book series. Catwoman has been portrayed many different ways and with numerous effective storylines throughout her lifetime in the Catwoman comic book series.
