He was one among those Filipino colleagues I first met when I arrived in Harbin almost 3 years ago. This made me a bit sensitive with my reaction after reading posts and comments about his death not only here on ESL TB but on some other sites as well.

Just like you, I couldn't take this incident lightly. Who would in his most rational senses anyway? Apparently, the family and those concerned individuals have dealt with this matter accordingly. However, there are some "SOPs" and "practical options" that were neither considered nor performed due to either prevailing circumstances or "traditional and religious" norms.

I appreciate your concern with the misfortunes of the Filipino teachers in China.
