Asking and not asking

Tell anyone who wants a sub from you to go see the navy, whomever they happen to be!

Some of them may not even bother to ask you but just take whatever they want.....by force or not....like all tigers, polar bears, lions, crocodiles, and certain human beings....

Kevin,

If you really need money, this isn't the way to ask. Strangers are reluctant to give out money to other strangers, just part of the common sense we all have. Excuse me if I don't understand what you're trying to do. But once somebody gets something like this posted on this very particular discussion board, you're putting yourself out there to be fleeced, grilled, and verbally smacked.

If money were to be spent wisely it would be getting lawyers and human rights groups to close down every single crappy education training center in China. Only sending a message like that will tell people that education cannot and will not be used as a smokescreen to make money!

Unfortunately, begging for money is not only practised by Chinese chancers, but also by unscrupulous foreigners inside and outside China connected with EFL in one way or another.
Stick to the old adage, "neither a borrower nor a lender be", and you'll never be conned by foreigners you presumed to have integrity. Tell anyone who wants a sub from you to go see the navy, whomever they happen to be!

I have received this email also.
I did receive an email from supposedly the real Mr Xu who apologised that his email account had been compromised and that he was very sorry about the scam emails that had been sent from it. Don't know if he was being genuine or not though!

Dear Kevin Xu,

I have lost my money, too, and beg you to send me 10,000 GBP as part of an immediate relief fund to feed my crocodiles...LOL

This person Kevin Xu (not his real name I am sure) has advised on this job. Got a scam email from him asking for a loan. Email is below. Obviously this person is using email from this board because I don't know him at all:

Dear

How are you doing? Hope all is well with you and family, I know this might be a surprise to you but I am sorry I didn't inform you about my traveling to Birmingham for a Seminar.

I need a favor from you as I've misplaced my wallet on my way to the hotel where my money, and other valuable things were kept and I will like you to assist me with an urgent loan of $3,200= £2,000 to sort-out my hotel bills and get myself back home.

I will appreciate whatever you can afford to help me with and I promise to pay you back as soon as I return home.

Best Regards

Kevin Xu
