I posted my details a few days ago. My first response was an attempted scam. No doubt scammers are always looking for new targets.
The initial enquiry seemed genuine enough, but when followed up I was asked not only for a lot more teaching than the original request, but also to take additional money to the fee ( sent by an 'associate') and forward the excess by wire to a nanny who would be accompanying the student.
My bank informs me that this is a recognised scam. The money would be sent to me by stolen cheque (hence 'associate' as the cheque would not be in the name of the person booking the course). This cheque then clears after 3 -5 working days and I would forward the excess amount by wire (Western Union or Money Gram were specified). Money sent by wire cannot be reclaimed, but a stolen cheque can be returned by an issuing bank as much as 6 months later and that bank would have the right to reclaim those funds from my account.

Apart from the obvious fact that a legitimate client would have no reason to ask me to forward money on their behalf (despite his reasons given - businessman with hectic schedule who had just lost his wife), there were other indications that the enquirer had not read the information I had sent him. The offered payment did not correspond with the amount of teaching he was requesting (it was, of course, more), nor had he realised that he was offering to pay private rates for group lessons. All this information had been given to him and it is reasonable to assume that any genuine client would have read and understood exactly what he was paying for before offering to pay - none of us give money away! He had also not specified the dates that his son (the student) would start the course. BEWARE! THEY ARE OUT THERE!
