Beware of that which appears too good to be true! I received the initial email 16 July. I did a scam search but nothing popped-up. I received the "contract" today (24 July) and, suffice to say, the sirens blared! This is supposed to be a legal document approved by UK Immigration and, yet, the grammar was less than adequate. But what really alerted me was the reference made to my "...previous position with the Mr. Santos Joaquin Family" whom I'd never heard of. That's when I found an earlier scam alert on www.tesljobs.com/messageboard concerning Mr. Santos Joaquin Family. There's also an alert posted 16 July concerning the Chin family. I must have missed it. The wording is exactly the same in both family letters, and both families refer to the same lawyer. If, like me, you have gotten (been taken!) to the contract stage, take a good look! The "official seal" is, well, nothing but a smudge; and the signature of the supposed lawyer (Edward Krammer) appears to not even match. While I've not sent any money, the contract does request that you contact Mr. Krammer directly. This is apparently where money is asked for. One individual on tesljobs reported filing a lawsuit in an attempt to recoup the money sent through Western Union; another reported that one or more addresses given in the emails/contract don't even exist. Another individual suggested that his brother, who was in the UK, meet with the family and or lawyer. That's when all communication broke-off. I did, unfortunately, send copies of my Passport page and University Degree. These people are very good. The emails (about 6-7 in total) seem so genuine and endearing. As do the family(?) pictures. And they reply in a very timely fashion to any queries you may have. I even began looking for appropriate books to use. Fortunately I didn't buy any. I wanted to see the contract first. I'll wait for my phone interveiw Monday with a reputable school offering realistic pay. As I said, beware the stranger bearing gifts!
