Re global-teachers.org

My latest update on G-T.org. Today I received an email message from a woman by the name of Virgine, who told me that they had just received my resume through G-T and her school will review my application. This is supposed to be a school somewhere in Europe, but the sender's IP address location is Wayne Pennsylvania. The job listings are static with no posting dates or any names of schools. Nor are there any weekly updates as promised. In almost 3 months, I've received only two responses including and like this one. The IP address of the first person who contacted me is in West Virginia. The name of the registered owner of this site is hidden, so be wary. This could be to avoid spam mail. but in this case it's unlikely.

Re: global-teachers.org

The IP address for the GT server is Chicago Illinois and Denver, Colorado most recently. GT has switched servers 10 times since their original domain registration, including Denmark. However, the IP addresses from the two agents I corresponded with are in Amsterdam, Netherlands which smacks of fraud. I paid the 70$ fee 3 months ago smelling a rat, but I couldn't find any complaints or warnings from other clients when doing a web search at the time. Thus, I took a gamble. In April, I was contacted by a woman whose name or pseudo-name was Irene Ludlow. She claimed to be the hiring manager of the Bilingual Learning Centre and to have received my resume from GT. Yet, she didn't tell me where the school is located, probably because it doesn't exist anywhere. Either in this thread or one in another forum, I discovered from the grievance of a past client that this school was located in Iceland, though there's no public record of it there. Anyway, I contacted her by email to ask where the school was, but she has never replied until now. I do know that there is no such school or even hiring manager by the name of Ludlow. This week I traced the IP address for the email I got from her and found her location was in a reservoir in the USA. GT is definitely fraudulent. Legitimate recruiters only charge a finders fee to the employer. I've been teaching EFL in Asia for 23 years and have never had to pay this fee while finding great jobs very fast. If we go to eslbase.com. there are lists of schools for just about every country where there's a demand for EFL teachers. We can contact the schools directly by ourselves by visiting their websites.

Re global-teachers.org

Their domain expires June 4, 2018. So they might change their name. Never pay a recruiter a finders fee at all cost. The fee indicates fraud.

Hi!

It's a scam. They used to use global-teachers.org address to advertise teaching positions. I'm pretty sure they wll send you back an email with an offer from Bilingual Language Centre in Reykjavik, which doesn't exist. I live here now and know more less the market. There were just a few openings for English teachers this year and all the positions have already been taken.

Keep away from them.

Hope my message helped you.

Best regards,
Lucja

Hello. I am wondering about a recent email I received, related to a website - http://teachtheworld.eu/teachingjoblist.html

Would anyone have any input on this, please? They are saying that they are forwarding my CV (which I never posted but filled out something) to schools in Iceland. If I wish to apply to other places, I would have to purchase their job list. There are many replies that this job list helped them find a job abroad, but I am worried about scamming here. First off, they contain a few English mistakes on their site.

Here is the email:

You indicated Iceland as your preferred teaching location. I have checked
into things and you qualify for most of our available teaching positions
there.

You have two options:

You can send us a list with max. three Job reference Numbers (of your
favorite openings) and I will forward them a copy of your Application.

Or you can also get our complete updated teaching Job list as a download and
apply directly for as many teaching positions as you want.

You can get our updated teaching Job List by following the link below:

http://teachtheworld.eu/teachingjoblist.html

Or simply copy and Paste the Link above into your browser.

If you have any other questions we are here to assist you.

This maybe a scam, however in the section where it states privacy policy and terms of use it does state about the service charge:

USE OF THIS WEBSITE

1. Using our Placement Assistance for Teachers:

Every qualified Teacher/Applicant has the option to use our Placement Assistance for Teachers. This means we help the Teacher in the search for a teaching position in any supported country. The Teacher Placement assistance involves a one-time and non-refundable service charge. This includes all administrative expenses as well.

You don't have the position already! They meant the school is interested! I have been in contact with world-teachers.com. I have not paid any money because of what people are saying. I mean if it legit great but if not you are out at least $300! The question is can you afford to possibly lose $300?

I am having the exact same experience... I got that same email posted below, and before that, I got an offer email that says I'm definitely in for the position and it's the last one blah blah, but they don't offer free placement for that specific position. Looks almost identical to the others listed below. And it says the position should begin March 1, 2016. I'm thinking SCAM!

Hi,

Yes I'm actually in shock at the moment because I got the same exact emails as listed below with unbelievable job offers. Its totally a scam. I was in communication with a 'Ms. Hoops' as well. She actually just today emailed me back to say that I didn't pay the one time Service Fee that was supposedly required. Craziness. Her most recent email was as follows.

'Dear,

yes we still have openings available in Thailand for you and your friend as
well and your application has already been approved. However, you did not
submit the requires one-time Service Fee which is required for this
location. Please also read through our FAQs.

Yea so bottom line its a scam and dont give them annnnnyything. They didnt mention any fees before this so i knew as soon as they did something was a bit fishy. No recruiter should ever be asking for money from the person they are recruiting.

@Ells

I received the same exact email with the same wording from the same person, but with a different job location. The deal seems too good to be true, so from what I have always been told, it probably is. I don't know if I want to pay $300 to find out. I asked for more school information and a phone number to contact them, we'll see if they respond.

Hi you all,

I just got this same email yesterday afternoon 04-04-15. I suddendly supposed it was a scam, when I´ve seen on the website you don´t have any phone contact in order to get to them, that´s the reason we all should report to our Police Station as that website must be closed, as soon as possible, many people can be already been deceived.
I do will,

I'd stay away from it. I got the same message last week and got suspicious about Ms Hoops' "positivity". The one dissenting reply to the thread by Ms McDonelly must have been written by someone from the "support team" as she seems to have rather specialist knowledge of the history of their website/domain...

Good luck with looking for you ESL job :)

Yeah? I'm having a similar situation with them ... sounding VERY positive that I pretty much had the job and then hearing nothing. When I asked for more information they gave me the most neutral sounding response ... so I have no idea where i stand with this job teaching English in Helsinki. I have heard nothing after this. They also "waived the fee" for me but asked for a donation to a charity building schools in Latin America (which was a legit program on a fundraising-programs website) ... I don't know what I think about this really. It seems not quite right. Did your experience with them start off like this?

Me and my husband have used their service last year and have been very satisfied with their service and Placement. We both got placed in Italy and things turned out to be just as described. However, they have changed their domain from .com to .org just recently but the .com has been active since mid 2004. We only had positive experiences with them.

Hi guys,

Ive been applying like mad to esl jobs in europe.
When I saw an ad for a job in st tropez of course I rushed to apply for it. Apparently I have been selected for this role, based solely on my CV,no pictures, not an interview, just need to pay a placement fee of 300USD and the job is as good as mine.

The email reads as follows:

my name is Monica and I'm a member of the Global Teachers Support
Team and also your personal teaching job advisor. We have just
recently celebrated our 10th anniversary and we want you to be
one of our many success stories and assist you to get the teaching
job you always wanted. All of our job openings are available exclusively
through us and each and every school and opening has been extensively
screened and filtered by our experienced Team of Professionals to make
sure we only have high quality openings available with good teaching
conditions and highly competitive salaries.

Your Application has been evaluated by our Team and we have contacted
several schools that matched your qualifications and preferences you
indicated in your Application and one of our associated Schools in
particular is very interested to hire you for the October 2014
start date.

However, I have just rechecked with the School and they only have one
opening remaining so we would need to move ahead with this soon to make
sure the opening will not be given to another Applicant.

I have included the original Job description of the opening below:

Reference Number: CH-2329, Location: St. Tropez
1 TEFL Teachers needed, Salary: Competitive, Accommodation: Furnished
acccommodation provided, Airfare: Airfare provided (return ticket),
Duration of Contract: Min. 6 month, Experience Required: No, Age of
Students: 6-10, Teaching hours per Week: 25, Salary: 2500 Euro/Month,
Benefits: No

The salary they offer is to be considered very high for the
local standards especially when considering that furnished
accommodation is also provided by the School.

We have several Placement Options available for you:

Our Free Placement Option is not available for this country but we
can still offer you our Normal and Premium Placement Options.
Click on the Link below to compare both Placement Options:

http://global-teachers.org/placement/index.html

Or copy and paste the link into your Browser if it does not open.

Additionally the Normal and Premium Placement Options both include
permanent access to our Premium-Login Area in which you will be
able to contact this school (and of course all others) directly among
many other features. The Premium Placement also includes the
translation of the teaching contract into English by one
of our licensed Translators as well as Premium-Support throughout
your stay abroad.

We are handling the entire hiring process for the School and we would
appreciate if you get back to us with your answer soon so I can inform
the Director of the School. Just let us know if you want the mentioned
teaching position to be locked-up for you and which Placement Option
you would prefer.

Once you are ready to move ahead you can also visit our SSL-Secure
order site directly by following the link below:

It is advisable to take a look at our FAQ section as well.
