Re ESL Teacher scam

Thanks for sharing. I almost fell for this scam too. It was the same pattern of communication, different names used though. My 'oppressor' was Mr. Aldo Jabir from British School of English Vilanova I La Geltru, Barcelona, Spain.

Re ESL Teacher scam

I went through the same process.

But the schools name is ELite English Center, and the school really exists but I can't reach them by phone. I was about to send the money but it keeps bothering me how good it seems.

The same lawyer office but different names. The emails are all the same.

Re ESL Teacher scam

Hi, Marie!
The same has happened to me! Thank you for the information, I was in the contract signing stage when I saw your post.
The problem is I can't call EF Barcelona, nobosy answers the phone. There is no e-mail or other phone number on their web site. Could you tell me how did you contact them? That would help me a lot!

Best regards

This is when I started to suspect something was wrong and went to the 'My first School' Website. Here I found in RED writing, a warning about a scam using their school name as part of the scam. This was the answer from the School =

Hello,

You must have replied to a fake EF Barcelona advert and that's how they got your details and then they started using our company details to conduct interviews, etc. We have reported it to the Police. First-Class is an established language school and just to make it clear, Mr Stanecki didn't interview you or send you the contract. It's a scam.
May I ask where you found the fake EF Barcelona advert? Was it on eslbase website or somewhere else?

Regards,
Piotr

Please, teachers, beware.....there are a LOT of scammers out there. I don't know which Website or adverts to trust anymore.
