Get out of there fast.Unite with your brothers in Yuncheng while working for 'Yuncheng IELTS School'. Google it to discover how to communicate with that school.Blacks are treated like human beings there by said employer!

Yes, that is most likely the case - because he was black.

There is latent racism in China - you are right. Unfortunately, I would say.

This post is not about scammers but about attitude's in this country, towards blacks in general. This is a racist country, white is a preference in many schools, especially the city I'm in now.

I was approached by a Chinese teacher who wanted me to work part-time on week-ends, for which I had no interest in. I told this teacher, I had a friend in this city, who would be interested in this position. This teacher ask me if he was from Africa, I did not say anything but continued to tell this teacher, that he had been in China teaching English for 3 years and has a lot of experience, if you give me your email address or a mobile number, he may be able to help you.
She didn't offer either.

Was it because he was black?

Angel, you are not "holy" enough to make anyone afraid of being taken to court!
You have got more to hide than anyone of us!

I have answered your question already. But in addition to what I've already posted in reply to 'Holly',as to why I prefer using a recruiter,of course a relatively reputable one, check another thread,'My English Club',for more info.If you read that, you'll see that in my view recruiters may not only be dishonest, but also schools that use them, not only TC's and private schools, but also public schools and universities!
As for English corners,if you dislike doing them, just like me,you can let a reputable agent find a job that doesn't require them on your behalf. That's what I do.So long as you have a white face, you don't even need any teaching references.Realise you power, and let your agent do the bargaining on your behalf, that's my advice.I know of two reputable ones. They'll even step in to back you up if the school tries to compromise you!
Victor at <teachingjobs@163.com> is one. The other is Goldwyn at <vipchina0086@hotmail.com>

"I don't have time to deal with such idle people like you"

" I have so many impotant things to "

Yes, I bet you do, like ripping off gullible teachers, newbies to China.

I really don't have time for people like you either "Holly", "Holy", whatever your stupid name is.

Looks like I may be back in Wuhan shortly, if I come across you I will certainly cause trouble. I will MAKE TIME to cause problems for you.

YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!

Your friend (not) Silverboy!

Turino, you know I agree with a lot of what you say, and consider you to be a friend and a defender of good morals and ethics. But we have a difference in views in regard to recruiters. I am curious as to why you prefer to use a recruiter. It has obviously worked out pretty well for you.

I am currently negotiating with three different universities for next semester, one of them is in Wuhan (public university, direct contact ) , the other two are in Changsha ( public universities ) The two unis in Changsha are being represented by recruiters.

I decided to look for a new contract, the contract my first uni sent me is a bit to vague, and even misleading in parts, so I told them I can't accept.

Because I do not like recruiters I am a bit loathe to accept a uni offer from one of them ( although to my surprise the recruiter seems to be honest and has answered all my questions honestly, also the contract is fine )

I have noticed that many universities are turning to recruiters to find teachers for them, a trend I obviously don't like, it is becoming more difficult to contact the schools directly.

Anyway, what do you think about this? The unis are also asking teachers to do one or sometimes two English corners a week, in addition to 14-15 actual teaching hours a week. I have never done English corner at a public uni, I have never heard of it there.

I anyone is doing English corner at a public university, please tell me about it.

Re: Look out for Angel Holy - an agent in Hubei. Another crook: Nemo eslabroad@yahoo.cn Recruitment fee, China

Let me tell you the truth:Reason 1:No native English speakers beg for jobs from an agent in China? They are very popular!

But what you have previously posted above is not true.As it happens,Holly,I'm one of the native English speakers who prefers going through an agent to obtain a teaching post. That's because I would feel very uncomfortable negotiating the terms and conditions of my employment direct with a prospective employer. You see, where I come from that's not the done thing.
Of course,I'm careful enough to choose a reputable agent, not one who has had complaints posted online against him (or her).I guess that disqualifies you as well as Nemo!

Hahaha! What a ridiculous comment!Only a fool can believe what you are saying!Let me tell you the truth:Reason 1:No native English speakers beg for jobs from an agent in China? They are very popular! How do they have problems with me?Are they crazy?Reason 2:They are not police to mange this kind of case based on facts while they don't know me.Nobody would do like that unless he or she had mental problems. Don't be pretending! It's impossible and illogical! You are the Cameroonian who could not make his benefits to the fullest based on my disadvantages and got angry with me!Peter and Jimmy are the same person!Your personal attack is very unreasonable and your comment is very illogical!Sorry!I don't have time to deal with such idle people like you!I have so many important things to do!Don't disturb me and don't reply to me!I have no time for you!

Holly/Holy

Instead of answering us, you just went on a little rampage. Sarcasm may be acceptable in China, but not outside. Also, please do not be threatening. I'm not a Cameroonian, I'm not black. Don't pretend you know who I am, that is obviously impossible without access to Army Spy Sattelites, or being a bloody good hacker.

The rest of your waffle is not going to make anyone believe you. You obviously hate black people, as most of the "friendly" Chinese people do.

Thirdly, let me explain to you what I think your arguments are. This is what I mean by personal attack:

1 appealing to one's audience's prejudices rather than their reason.
2 attacking one's opponent's character rather than their argument.

Hahahaha! Are you a westerner? You are so funny! You are a Cameroonian! And I know who you are.You are just personal attack!Do you know why most of schools don't like Cameroonians?Just because a few bad Cameroonians like you have spolied the impression that friendly Chinese people had had on you at the begining!I've talked with a lot of schools and I had been trying my best to convince schools to take African teachers, but most of them still refuse Cameroonians, not because of their color, but because of their personiality and moral! They said they could take Ghanians and Kenyans, but not Cameroonians, because they were too bad!I know most of Cameroonians are innocent!

Re: Look out for Angel Holy - an agent in Hubei. Another crook: Nemo eslabroad@yahoo.cn Recruitment fee, China

Holly/Holy,

No, your ad Hominem (personal attack) nonsense will not work on us Westerners. Peter, real name or not, is exposing you as a sham recruiter. He is not trying to destroy your name, you have destroyed your own name. Exposing you here is certainly not illegal; as I said, personal attacks don't cut it with us Westerners.

Thank you Peter for informing us all. You are certainly complying with the law.

Why doesn't Peter take you to court? We know that it wouldn't be worth it. The Chinese court system is unbelievably corrupt and useless, plus we don't want to waste our time dealing with little cheaters!

Is Peter scared of you taking him to court? What a laugh! You have no case, and certainly would get yourself in more trouble! This is obvious. Petty insults and threats do not impress westerners. Substance and wisdom does, though.

Thanks for your wonderful comment,Peter!I don't know if Peter is your real name or you are just someone who hates me and tries to distory my name by using this illegal way.If I really cheated you,why didn't you take me to the court instead of doing this? Why are you hiding? Are you afraid that I'll take you to the court?
