In response to Re Beware of ESL Lecturer position in Cameroun (Turnoi, the Only One and Real Turnoi)

I received an offer from University of Bamuenda in Cameroon. The salary was a bit over US$4000 per month plus airfare, medical, etc. It was for a 3 month probationary contract to be followed by a 2 year contract if everyone was happy with my performance. I have investigated and found it to be a scam. After being told that I would receive a contract, I was told that the first 3 months, I would be responsible for my own accommodations. The agency contacted me and told me how much money to send them via Western Union because they were having a problem accepting payment using other means. They wanted over US$800. A big red flag whenever I am asked for money before I begin working. I now know from more investigation that it is a scam. The good thing is that they did not get any money from me. I never send any money to get a job. Just beware whenever anyone asks for money from you in relation to a job offer. Good luck.
