I thought I should try to put all the information I found in one place in an attempt to protect others...

Long story short - if you are an inexperienced English teacher, be forewarned - NEVER EVER EVER send money via WESTERN UNION to somebody promising a job!

There appears to be a scam going around for a Doctor/Chef/Dentist with many different nationalities (Italian, Japanese, Chinese etc.) living in England requiring a nanny/English teacher.

It appears that the scammer gets your information from Dave's ESL Cafe, and promises a job offer of 3000+ British Pounds per month, with airfare, visas, housing, the works....the only catch is that you must send a deposit (via Western Union) of 900 pounds for the "Tier 2 Visa maintenance" ...the tricky thing here is that if you look up on the UK government page, there IS a Tier 2 visa maintenance of 900 pounds....but the way that you ensure you have this money is by providing BANK STATEMENTS......NOT sending money via western union.

This guy is pretty sneaky....he makes it seem like he has a legit lawyer or attorney, he sends pictures of his "family" and "housing," and even sends what appears to be a real contract and everything.

Under his most recent guise (the one that he tried to use on me) he is "Gian Bartolomeo," Italian Chef with the phone number 44(0)7507638551 and using the email address "english2gian@gmail.com" Needing an English teacher to teach his wife and two young children. He has been emailing me for about 3 weeks now, with emails as recently as today (January 28th 2013) from both him and his supposed lawyer "Mike Falvey."

However, he has used many names including GIAN BARTOLOMEO , CAPPI D'ANGELO , DR. JUNJIE MU , DR. KENNY LINN , DR. YOUNG KING LIU , DR. OGURI DAIKI KATSUYA , DR. DAISUKE KAITOBA , MR. OLEG GAZENKOAND , his so-called-lawyer has gone by a number of aliases as well including KEVIN WHITE , and MIKE FALVEY

Just look at the picture! Seriously? Come on! You can afford to pay a teacher WHAT? but you can't afford a webcam! Get real!
