Hi All....I too received a message in a site called Hire Home Stay that uses the email linhaung025@gmail.com We messaged back and forth a bit until he/she/they gave me her so-called personal info. using the same phone #+447-045-733552. After google searching it I found your post. THANK YOU to all.

So she/he/they are still at it, using similar dialogue.

Here is the info. she uses and yes she still says she is deaf and that is the reason for the other persons # and not being able to speak to you directly:

thanks already check with the bank...check still on hold no funds were taken out of the check. They keep doing this to people all of time why is it the police don't catch up with them ?

I have been dealing with this mess for the last month they also gave me a cheque to deposited but has not cleared yet. No mention of when the daughter is coming to stay August 15 was the first date and they changed it to August 10 now. Grammar died, daughter has no money but never any mention of when the daughter is coming to Canada no date now and no flight number. They tell me i need to send 1,000 to daughter in the UK so she can make her way to my house. Looks like a scam to me. I have put the money into my account already almost a week ago but it still has not cleared. They keep calling me for money but i am not sending any. The man that send me the cheque from Alberta and the mother is from China the daughter is in the UK and now they want me to send the money to someone in the UK by the name of Susan. At first the daughter was coming from the UK for 4months and they wanted to pay me up front so they did by cheque but they gave me around 1000 to much on it so now they want me to mail that money back to them. Watch out looks like a scam to me

This is what the scammers are saying. she saw my profile on Easyroommates, I made statement that I am a christian that is why she is praying. I also have a 6 year old that was mentioned as well on my profile. they try to use your weakes link to get you. Be very mindfull, any thing you are not sure of always research on google that is what I did, I copy their number and searched on google it brought me to this sight. Well, you seem the most recent. We have an email with the exact same wording, but our student is Zan Deshi and the deaf mother is Biyu Deshi. No money has been given or received..... We are in Victoria, BC.

I'm glad you're reporting them to yahoo - we did the same thing when they approached us a few months back. I think yahoo shut down that particular account. Doesn't stop them opening another one, but I like to imagine that it really annoys them to have lost all the e-mail correspondence in the closed account - and it pleases me to think of all the people who have a lucky escape as a consequence :-)

Unfortunately there must be people out there who don't realise until it's too late that this is a scam, which means that the scammers are making enough money off this to continue. But if we all report them as much as possible, eventually it will not be worth their while, especially if more and more people find this site and are aware that it's just a horrid scam.

We reported this scam to yahoo a few weeks ago as ''Mr Park'' and the mother (previously ''Meifeng Cheng'') were using yahoo addresses.

I urge you to report anything this to the e-mail provider immediately (whether it is yahoo still or another provider). You didn't mention the e-mail address they're currently using, but I'm hoping that yahoo did shut down the previous address which was parkt10@yahoo.com

The only way to slow down / stop these people is to raise awareness of their scam and to get their e-mail addresses shut down by reporting them for their fraudulent activities and the fact that they're using yahoo (or whoever) for the purpose. If we all do this as soon as they try to scam us, then maybe it will prevent others from being scammed and deter the damn scammers from wasting our time.

OMG! We got the EXACT same message! I was supposed to pick up "Lui Cheng" at the airport this Sunday! It wasn't until Meifeng Cheng (her alleged mother) asked me to send Lui Cheng $3000 from the $4000 that Tom Park sent me! Wow! That is crazy!!! I am in shock that people would do such a thing.

For future reference, plug in 'reverse telephone number' in the search box. The system will verify the number with the town where it is located, but not the listed name or street address unless you pay. Good luck.

I too was contacted by this THIEVING ALEX LUTTER!!!! I was luckier than the lady from Richmond. I refused to send them any monies. I have called the RCMP also, but who knows if it will help catch this SCUM BAG.

I found the previous post in a Google search of the cell phone number figuring that he has tried to scam someone else before.

You may well be aware of the scam perpetrated on "Linda" who has posted a message of this nature on these forums.

I too was victim to this scam (although, I never did lose the money). I just want to reiterate the details of this person;

-money order/cashiers cheque is sent printed on real cheque stock (but you can see it was printed by household laser printer - nothing is formatted or lined up correctly, but he could still fool you!)
-has a local contact in Canada named "Sean Matthews"
-may be using cell phone #647 830 2176
-may request you to send the payment to Sean in Toronto, at a PO box who's postal code is the "glen garry" neighborhood in Toronto (google the postal code)
-has a grandma that died
-mother uses excessive religious references
-daughter is staying in the US with undisclosed people, and is not happy where she is
-mother has a "hearing problem" and cannot use the phone
-mother claims to be living in ireland, but of spanish decent
-mother escessively praises your assistance, house, family, etc.
-scammer sends many requests or will call very often to check if you've received the payment (because there is a short time frame between you sending the money and the cheque bouncing so he wants to ensure that he get's to you before you go to the bank
-Using a spanish name "Carmela Godina" "Catilena Diego" etc.. etc.. with a yahoo email address.
-is using email services and hosting sites in Africa to access his yahoo email account. If you cheque the IP on the email address, you can see the origination is in Africa.

I called the police in Surrey, Police in Toronto, Federal fraud agencies, no one really gives a damn - especially if you don't get caught in the scam, because no fraud has actually been commited at that point.

I told "Sean" that the police were waiting for him at his P.O. Box in Glen Garry.. he seemed suprised that i knew where it was, and by the fact that I knew UPS doesn't make money orders. Hopefully this will stop him from retreiving other cheques sent to his post office box, and others may be saved from him.
